We will visit the Reggia di Portici, a summer residence built in 1738 by Charles of Bourbon and Amalia of Saxony. The Royal Palace houses the Botanical Garden and the Herculanense Museum, where, thanks to modern technologies, the cultural climate of the court in the period of the archaeological findings of Herculaneum; the archaeological excavations of Herculaneum, started by chance at the beginning of the eighteenth century and whose systematic development was due to Amedeo Maiuri in the last century; finally the Villa Campolieto, one of the best restored among the Vesuvian Villas.
